Christopher Tomaras, MD
Christopher Tomaras, MD, is an experienced, patient-centered, board-certified neurosurgeon at Axion Spine & Neurosurgery in Alpharetta in the Atlanta, Georgia metropolitan area. He specializes in spinal surgery and is highly regarded for his compassionate bedside manner when caring for patients.
Dr. Tomaras is originally from Chattanooga, Tennessee, and now resides in Sandy Springs. He received his doctor of medicine degree from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, where he graduated with highest honors and was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.
He completed a general surgery internship under world-renowned heart surgeon Michael DeBakey, MD, before participating in a neurosurgery residency at Texas Medical Center of Baylor College of Medicine in Houston.
Dr. Tomaras has over two decades of experience caring for patients in the Atlanta area. He’s a leader in revolutionary neurological technology and innovative treatments, including navigational robotic spine surgeries. Dr. Tomaras became a board-certified neurosurgeon in 2001.
He stays up-to-date with the latest advances in neurosurgery with continuing education. Dr. Tomaras was a contributor to the first publication documenting cervical spine surgery in an outpatient setting and served as principal investigator for numerous cervical disc replacement research studies.
In his free time, Dr. Tomaras enjoys spending time with his wife and three beautiful daughters. He warmly welcomes new patients to Axion Spine & Neurosurgery and looks forward to working with them.
